Artist Statement
I began my art education at the College of St Catherine in St Paul, Mn. in 1973.
Shortly after college I was employed in retail for 10 years eventually becoming a buyer for a large department store then opening my own shop in the Printers Row district of downtown Chicago.
In 1986, I began to pursue a new career as a muralist and trompe l'oeil painter. I was also a volunteer for a local theater as a backdrop designer and painter for 8 years starting in 1985.
I discovered plein air painting in 2012 and joined the Plein Air Painters of Chicago in 2013. I have enjoyed it ever since and participated in many plein air events and competitions since that time.
