Artist Statement
My hands motion the queer body, twisted into forms of sharp ambiguity, until the normal becomes uncomfortable. With a body of work that reaches into a variety of mediums, I am of the firm belief that each medium informs the other, with limbs reaching into the next project. The materials I find most interesting are the ones that resonate with the carnal; whether its the clay that shapes the human vessel in common myths—connecting people to the food and drink we share—the charcoal of ashen limbs, or media that brings together time, sound, and visuals to interact with an audience. I make my art for the queers that bite back, aiming to be a tool of catharsis, reflection, and community-building.
