Artist Statement

I make art that brings me joy. I love working with copper because of its beautiful
color and the warmth of the metal. It's also a great metaphor for life. It is often
not until we are tested by fire and hammered about a bit that we find out how
strong and beautiful we really are. With beadwork, there is always something
different to see or try. Alcohol ink is an emotionally ambivalent experience ? I
love the way the colors come together sometimes in harmony, sometimes in
discordance and sometimes to form something new entirely. Photography is the medium that tells a story. I want to draw someone into the world of the composition. I like to tell the story of long-discarded things and show their beauty through my photography.
