Kim Watts-Rayon

Artist Statement

Kim J. Watts-Rayon, an accomplished self-taught artist, specializes in creating stained glass, mosaics, and sculptures that draw inspiration from Picasso's distinctive style. Her artistic endeavors encompass a variety of mediums, including glass, plaster, and clay.

At the core of her artistic philosophy is the endeavor to illuminate the extraordinary aspects hidden within everyday life, thereby showcasing the profound impact of passion in the absence of formal artistic training.

With a career spanning over four decades in the art world, she has established her own studio in Olympia Fields, Illinois. Additionally, she dedicates her time to instructing adults with special needs at various locations throughout the southern suburbs. Currently, Kim serves as an instructor for Tall Grass Art Association in Park Forest, Illinois, where she imparts her artistic knowledge to both children and adults.
