Artist Statement

I'm a fine artist and graphic designer based in St. Louis,
originally from Dayton, Ohio. My artistic journey began
early, creating illustrations for books and developing a
deep connection to portraiture as a way of telling stories
and preserving emotion. Working primarily in
hyperrealism, I create detailed portrait drawings that
emphasize precision, depth, and lifelike expression. My
process is rooted in traditional techniques, with a strong
focus on blending and subtle tonal variation to capture
not only physical likeness, but the presence and spirit of
each subject. My work is driven by a desire to honor
people and moments with care and intention. Influenced
by both my background in graphic design and my
hands-on career as a master barber, I bring a disciplined
eye for detail and structure into every piece I create.
Through my art, I aim to evoke emotion, connection, and
recognition—inviting viewers to pause and engage more
deeply with the human experience reflected in each
portrait. As I continue to grow in my practice, I remain
committed to pushing the boundaries of realism while
staying true to the passion that first drew me to create.
