Linda Smith

Artist Statement

Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, I am a photographic artist, poet, writer, and Founder/Executive Director of A Call to Conscience: Interactive Theater for Social Change. My artistic pursuits are diverse but my first love is photography. My inspiration is the symmetry and patterns of nature, the effects of time and conditions on living and man-made subjects. Often my photography invites the storytelling of themes; historical, cultural, and political, in the context of social justice. On the "REAL" side, I'm inspired by the joy I find in simple surroundings, the peace among the chaos, and the facination of living in this universe for over 70 years.
