Artist Statement

I am a photographer and new media artist working between photography, video, and digital manipulation. I create high-resolution images that begin as carefully staged photographs and are transformed through heavy editing into surreal scenes that feel unfamiliar and slightly unsettling.

My practice focuses on how images of beauty, fantasy, and comfort can conceal control, distortion, or unease beneath their surface. Rather than documenting reality, I use digital processes to reconstruct it, pushing visual elements until they no longer feel stable or purely decorative. I am interested in moments when an image shifts—when what appears soft or inviting begins to feel strange, artificial, or charged.

I am currently studying at New York University and am based between New York and Seoul.
