Artist Statement

I compare myself to a composer or author as I paint to capture moments that intrigue me.
Taking the inspiration and then by changing it,I use color as my vocabulary.Reimagining a new impression of that memory or image,I translate it by using values and tones as my tools.Most often,I prefer pastels as they are tactile and can be mixed or blended directly on paper.For me, that means fewer color boundaries as I try to evoke the mood of a new piece, perhaps to create mystery, distance,emotion , most often peacefulness.
Art for me , is a means of expression that elevates the soul.It is a joy that never diminishes , and when recognized by others, grows tenfold.
