Jin Jin Chiu

Artist Statement

Jin Jin Chiu is an architect based in Salt Lake City who spent her formative years in Hong Kong, New England, and Germany. She explores sensory experience, material processes, and connection to place through architectural design. Her practice is rooted in a deep interest in how architecture shapes and represents civic identity. Jin Jin has long been drawn to cemeteries as public spaces, but since her mother’s sudden death in 2023, she has been revisiting her architectural work on cemeteries through the lens of her lived grief.
