Artist Statement

I appreciate that we, as humans, are able to hold and experience opposing emotions simultaneously. My work focuses on these duplicities found in everyday life in order to better understand what it is to feel sadness and joy, hope and despair, at the same time. I use familiar symbols and shapes in order to represent this duality.
