Artist Statement

Ryanne Ryan is a lifelong creative who uses the arts to try to comprehend humanity in all its roles, expectations, horrors, and possibilities. While she specializes in black-and-white charcoal portraiture, she ventures into many other mediums as necessary to capture the complexities of human nature and the chaos within her own mind. She has experience in zentangling, digital art, and unconventional sculpture, and she has recently been exploring photography and mixed media. Ryanne’s art has been featured, awarded, and sold in exhibitions throughout Michigan, and she always strives to reach new audiences to further share her encapsulations of human madness, fervor, and amour in all their twisted beauty.
