Artist Statement

I have been creating artwork my whole life. My first recognition for a piece of artwork that I created was in my 3rd grade art class, where I won a special recognition for my "art car" that I made out of construction paper at Defer Elementary, in GPP. That recognition for making something from my own imagination gave me the courage to continue to tap into the way I saw life and in turn expressing that interpretation into making art. Over the years I have worked in most all art mediums from sculpture to oil painting. For the past 10 years I have focused more on oil painting, going to Gage Academy of Art in Seattle, WA. I studied 'Still Life' oil painting. It was there that I have settled in on what medium I feel I work best in and want to continue to use, furthermore try to perfect my own style for the rest of my artistic career.
