Artist Statement

Painting brings me joy. I am a self taught watercolor artist who loves to travel. Playing with paint and creating new colors is a gift. Being in nature and painting nature is my 'happy place'. I prefer to paint bright, colorful, cheerful flowers of all kinds but I also paint landscapes and seascapes as well. I enjoy painting colorful flowers and gardens. I paint for Joy- not Perfection. I usually have an idea of what I want to paint, but not always. I mix colors and put brush to paper (or canvas) and allow that to guide me. 'Mistake' is not in my vocabulary when I paint, but I detour from my original idea frequently! I paint what I like and makes me happy using lots of bright colors and unusual color combos. I think everyone should be able to afford original art they love. I hope my art will inspire, soothe and bring joy to everyone that sees my colorful and cheerful paintings. That is my wish - to share beauty and joy.
