Artist Statement

We create art to reason with the world.

We paint to converse with ourselves and others, and to arrange things on canvas that we cannot arrange in life.

I intentionally create compositions that contain suggestive or ambiguous imagery.

I am not interested in rendering a specific narrative or subject.

I am interested in crafting structural or aesthetic pathways that engage the viewer and keep them involved with the picture.

Although the shapes or objects may appear unconnected or unrelated, they become parts of a visual story that slowly reveals itself to the viewer.

This method of picture making provides a continual experience.
It continues to reveal a visual story and a place of discovery for the viewer.
