Artist Statement

As a young woman navigating the transition from girlhood to womanhood, I have often found myself in a space of solitude, grappling with the complexities of my own identity. Raised in an environment that was sheltered but also translucent. My parents frequently moved the family from state to state, never fully rooted or able to connect with others my age. This constant shift left me feeling like an outsider, the 'weird girl' who never quite fit in.

Art became my refuge, my language, and my bridge to the world. It was the only way I could truly express the internal battles and emotions that I was unable to articulate with words. Through my art, I explored the complexity of womanhood, its struggles, its beauty, and its growth. My journey from feeling lost and out of place to embracing my identity as a woman is mirrored in the evolution of my work. Each piece is a step toward understanding myself, finding my voice, and celebrating the strength that comes with transformation.

Although I often found myself alone, art has allowed me to connect with others who share similar experiences, forming a quiet yet powerful community of fellow creators. My work is both a reflection of my own path and a testament to the unspoken connections that art can foster, bridging gaps between those of us who are still searching for belonging.

Through my art, I seek not only to explore the depths of womanhood but also to communicate a sense of unity for those who feel isolated, misunderstood, or adrift. It is my hope that my work can inspire others to embrace their uniqueness and find their own voice in the often-quiet spaces of their lives.
