Artist Statement
My work grows out of a deep interest in mood, memory, and the quiet power of everyday life. I paint landscapes, figures, and familiar places not simply to describe what I see, but to capture what they feel like — the atmosphere of a moment, the emotional weight of a space, or the story held inside an ordinary scene.
I’m especially drawn to subjects that suggest both stillness and movement: a road, a bridge, a weathered building, a gathering of people, or a stretch of open land. Through expressive brushwork, layered texture, and a balanced use of color, I aim to create paintings that feel both accessible and contemplative. My process allows room for intention and chance to work together, so each painting develops with a sense of discovery.
At the heart of my practice is a desire to make work that invites reflection. I want viewers to slow down, look closely, and find something personal within the image — a memory, a feeling, or a quiet connection to their own experience. Whether I’m painting a landscape or a scene with figures, I’m always looking for that subtle moment where atmosphere, memory, and meaning meet.
