Artist Statement

My work is first and foremost a reflection on being a human, on planet Earth, alive in the 21st-century. I use the mediums of clay soil, charcoal, and twine often working on canvas that’s been burned over an open flame. These elements allow me to tap into an ancient, ancestral stream of consciousness where I can ask questions without words or judgment. My paintings sift through the cryptic answers I receive and the dichotomy between how I live versus how I was Created to live.
