Amanda Garrison

Artist Statement

I paint primarily with acrylics in my home studio in the Pacific Northwest, where I live with my husband and two little girls. I graduated from Western Washington University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, but found myself squeezing in Acrylic Painting and Renaissance Art History classes. I have adored painting since childhood, and even during a rewarding career in oncology as a radiation therapist, I found I could not ignore my passion for making art. It is a meditative practice that quiets my mind and sparks excitement for life.
My desire is to create a grounding sense of peace through my artwork, reminiscent of walking through a beautiful garden.
