This work draws from nature’s catastrophic events and its dismantling effects on waterfront societies.

What interests and moves me are the leftover fragments that pay homage to these lost communities.

I am a minimalist sculptor working in clay, calling on the found shards that were once vital components of an existing system.

These pieces utilize various types of construction: slab, solid, and reductive methods. Each one has been layered with slips, additives and glazes fired multiple times to develop a worn and battled surface, giving reference to their previous life and their path to regeneration. Some have non-clay components

All that comprises this work is in pursuit of fractured beauty in the most minimal way.
