Simone Rosia

Artist Statement

Simone Rosia, a Detroit-born artist. She specializes in painting but is not limited to one form. Her art focuses on Black culture as she tells stories through vibrance. Simone realized there was more that she wanted to explore through photographs that give nostalgic tones to her paintings. There became a nuance of recreating moments that she wasn’t always a part of. Simone’s intimate relationships are often subjects of her work and she takes pride in shooting her subjects unless they come from a personal archive.Simone aims to amplify the voices and personal stories of Black people through her work.
