Brittanie Bondie

Artist Statement

Brittanie Bondie (b. 1984, Ypsilanti, MI) is a photographic artist whose work explores experimental techniques and sustainable darkroom practices. She earned her MFA in Creative Photography from the University of Florida in 2015. Since then, she has taught digital photography at colleges and universities across the United States, including the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay, where she presented her first solo exhibition, Objective Material. The exhibition featured large-scale, abstract, camera-less photographs influenced by environmental forms and concerns.
Bondie’s work has been exhibited in museums and galleries nationwide, including MOCA North Miami, Woman Made Gallery, Detroit Artists Market, Playground Detroit, and Hatch Art Gallery. In addition to her studio practice, she continues to teach photography and create work rooted in the natural world and its materials. She is currently based in Detroit, where she works with and cares for works on paper at the Detroit Institute of Arts.
