Kristy Winterbourne
Artist Statement
As a figurative sculptor, Kristy takes inspiration from art history, folklore, mythology of past and present, as well as human behavior and our current social norms. Through gestures and expressions, Kristy explores how narratives are portrayed. She wants to find those lost moments of time and what has been hidden. The resulting imagery is more than surface value - perhaps the subject has their own story to tell, not what was told about them. It is the artist’s goal to convey a different and deeper interpretation of what is unseen and that which we hold to be truths.
