Cindy Mawle

Artist Statement

Cindy Mawle has spent half her lifetime as a "self directed" artist and has created a prolific portfolio of subjects in that time. A born and raised Vancouver Islander, she moved to Alberta for 14 years which magnified her love and appreciation for the coast. In 2004 Cindy set her roots back on the Island where she paints full time within her studio set in the Forest. She is now best known for her Vancouver Island paintings,a direct expression of her deep connection to the west coast.
“Painting is the touchstone that connects me to the uncomplicated reality of nature. The subject and process relaxes me and the calm I paint upon my canvas is my offering to the world. It is just that simple."
