Artist Statement

The series of twelve images in 'Flower for Resilience' evolved as I watched the plants in my garden in Saint Anthony Park change over one year. My work across media is about the experience of time as shown through the growth of plants. My work is site specific, I use the medium that best captures a particular sense of place. I grew up in Saint Anthony Park and watercolor was the first medium I learned to work in as an artist, so was the best choice when it came to making these intimate and detailed pictures of the plants around my home. I continue to expand this series and I am so excited to share this new work!
