Artist Statement

I am a forager -- of words, food, medicine, rocks, seeds. From these I grind and combine and create something new. This project includes hematite, slate, coal, and sandstone of my native Minnesota and reflects landscapes from the city and forests I love. For me there is a satisfying unity between the process of egg tempera, found materials and my home that I would like to share with others.
