Artist Statement
My work as an artist is a reflection of my connection to the city of Philadelphia and my unwavering passion for the medium of egg tempera. Inspired by the works of iconic figures such as Andrew Wyeth, Albrecht Durer, and Sandro Boticelli, my pieces evoke a sense of nostalgia for the Northern and Italian Renaissance while simultaneously pushing the boundaries of 21st century art. Through the delicate use of brush strokes and intricate layers of paint, I seek to capture the essence of modern society and the contradictions within. The influence of Euan Uglow and Alice Neel is also evident in my compositions, as I aim to explore the complexities of line, shape, and observation of the subject. My art is a symphony of heritage, technique, and contemporary flair - a true fusion of old and new.
