Artist Statement

I have a background in both art and chemistry. Most of my early work was drawn, and in black and white. When I started work as a chemist in a 'Color Styling Group' for an automotive coatings manufacturer, I fell in love with pigments. Now I use them, primarily in oils, pastel chalk or colored pencil, to try to express the art I see everywhere. I am increasingly drawn to scenes in nature, as well as to historical architecture.
