Artist Statement

My work honors the traditional Venetian lampworking techniques, while also incorporating a contemporary scientific approach. I work with primarily clear borosilicate glass and applications of 24k gold and pure silver to create depth and color within the forms. My blown shapes are made by hand without the use of molds and my pattern work within the marbles and sculptural pieces play with depth and perception. I am drawn to crisp lines and clear glass that reflects the light that we all encounter around us.
