Artist Statement

Joan is an award winning NJ Contemporary artist from Bernards Twsp creating & showing locally since 2019. I study under Oscar Peterson who challenges my abilities-keeping me focused on detail, hue and light. My medium choices include Acrylic, Watercolor and Oil over acrylic. I enjoy landscapes, nature, sea scapes finding the secret shadows; the intensity of light.
I am a member of The Garden State Watercolor Society, Morris County Art Ass. Farmstead Arts Center, The Contemporary Art Center - Bedminster . I have an Instagram account at Joan_of_ArtNJ.
I enjoy retirement traveling, boating, skiing, visiting grandchildren and incorporating my hobby by creating wall art for people who respond to my subject matter. I enjoy catching beautiful scenes by adding tints of color to enhance my work.
Our the land, sea and lakes, arboretums and sunsets here n the North East are something to behold. I am glad I can stop time by painting the beauty I see. JF
