Artist Statement

After teaching Spanish for 25 years, I took a black and white photography class just for something creative to do. This "something" turned into a mid-career change that started me on a photographic adventure.
Taking a photograph is easy. Making a photograph is hard. The challenge of digital photography is in finding the one image that speaks to you, and then using the right tools to bring out the hidden beauty in its textures and shapes. Missing the creative aspect of the darkroom, I turned to Photoshop to fill that void, and more recently to experiment with AI.
The thing about adventures is that they are continually evolving and revolving. Tomorrow may find me back in the darkroom.
