Artist Statement

My story... I've always enjoyed crafting and making things. In 2012 I lost my youngest son to suicide. I was a mess, as any mother would be. I went to a 2 month grief course and the very end of the last meeting the counselor said think of a hobby you used to like to do. I walked in the house and went straight to a shoebox of beads in the closet and I never stopped. Instead of dwelling on what happened, I found myself thinking "oh, those beads will match that pendant, or this will go with that", etc. It literally saved my life. I was just beading my heart out just to cope and I counted what I had and I had 98 necklaces. It was my husband who suggested we set up a booth and it was the best suggestion ever. It got me out of the house, seeing people, and smiling again. Beading really has saved my life. My primary product is beaded crystal suncatchers. I'm spreading sparkles and rainbows, they're happy.
