Artist Statement
In a time of chaotic conflicting messages, I find continual renewal in the immutable
truth of the grace and power of nature. My modern and expressive landscapes offer a
new perspective on a beauty that is both timeless and accessible. The work is made
to connect, to unify, to invite people into memories of place that deliver on a full
emotional experience.
I paint landscapes. Of form. Of feeling. Of place. And I am evolving.
I ‘ve had a solid base of regional success and am beginning to garner national successes. I have work in the permanent collection at the Burchfield Penney. I was invited to contribute to the 716 auction. I have had solo exhibitions at BAM, at the Hoyt, at Gallery 1045, at the Patterson Gallery, and have been in several juried group exhibtions, Erie Art Museum, Schweinfurth and others. I’ve won the BSA Annual Gold twice. I have art in public places: R.O.M.E, Renown Health Center, Reno NV, Roswell, Hyatts. I have collectors all across the US, in Canada, Japan and Italy. I had the great pleasure of illustrating Academy Award Winner Gerda Weissman Klein’s last book, “One Raspberry.”
Summing up my work as succinctly as I can: With acrylic and canvas as my primary medium, I re-travel to places, real and imagined. And I love bold, juicy, in-your-face color.
