Pam Krimsky
Artist Statement
I love painting directly from landscape in Spring and Autumn. ( I can't bear the cold of Winter and Summer is too green.) I also paint figure compositions, usually starting from drawings I make from my imagination. I enjoy painting very freely. my style coming from my drawing skills and my body rhythms. While I used to re-work canvases, working back into canvases even after years, I have stopped that. I like the freshness of less worked surfaces. Over the past year, I have stopped working as soon as I am unsure of what my next move needs to be. I usually paint in acrylic, but love to use oils occasionally. I love to draw, occasionally hand-build with clay and make collages from cut cardboard.
I first began to exhibit regularly around 2014, in both solo and juried group shows. My work was recently in the Hudson Valley Museum of Contemporary Art, in Peekskill, NY, in the show, In-Secuiity. In both 2019 and 2020, I was accepted twice to the prestigious Art in the Loft Wine Label Competition, a collaboration between the Millbrook Vineyard and Winery, and Arts Mid-Hudson and in a juried Show at Pocantico. I am a member of The National Association of Women Artists, The Woodstock Artists Association and Museum and Arts Mid-Hudson.
