Artist Statement

Since 2001, I have worked in borosilicate glass using flame-working techniques. Each piece begins with an idea that I translate directly into glass. I work with rods and tubing, introducing color and form within a flame that reaches temperatures exceeding 1,500 degrees. At this heat, the glass becomes molten, allowing me to shape and sculpt each piece by hand.

Nature is the primary source of my inspiration, with the ocean playing a central role in my work. I am drawn to its movement, life, and sense of calm. Some of my pieces emphasize motion and flow, while others aim to capture lifelike detail. Through these forms, I strive to make the glass appear fluid—frozen in motion—echoing the rhythm and tranquility of the sea. Nearly all of my artwork stems from my deep connection to the ocean and my desire to create objects that evoke a sense of calm and quiet movement.
