Artist Statement

Being an architect as well as an artist I can’t help but being drawn to painting subjects which encompass – “Structure”. Having thus stated that I must follow what is my definition of “structure”. For me “structure” applies to not only the built environment, which may seem to be the obvious, but it also encompasses landscape, plant life, and the human figure, which explains my interest in painting all of these subjects.
In addition to painting a variety of subject matter, I like to pursue these subjects in various media. While known primarily as a watercolorist, I also enjoy painting in oil, gouache, casein, and acrylic.
With the combination of various media along with the varied subject matter I am able to pursue quite a range of experimentation with an expectation of a successful work of art.
