Artist Statement

My art is rooted in expression and ideas. Each piece has its own distinct personality. To embrace creativity, one must be willing to explore and welcome change.

The expressive approach developed from my formal art education, professional experiences, and early life. It is based on the simplicity of drawing expressively, as well as engaging with the colors, shadows, and the objects that are influenced by them.

Over the past few years, I have focused on integrating plein air techniques with abstract thinking, exploring the nuances of color, light, and shadow throughout the day.

Many of my works have been in juried shows, galleries, and museums nationally and internationally. I feel fortunate that my artwork has received awards and has sold.
