Artist Statement

My works are visual diagrams of what equates to journal entries; ideas, meditation, rumination and rants… The PINE series is inspired by the woods in Maine where I live and being at home so much during the pandemic.

I fold form dimensional lines into copper sheet and trim the edges to shape my “canvas”. Liquid and sifted enamels are applied and fired separately to build up multiple layers of color. The surface is etched and hand sanded to a smooth matte finish. The painting/collage is made up of two separate pieces mounted together on a panel, each overlap on one side.
