Artist Statement

Photography is my way of sharing the beauty I see with others. When I capture my picture there are feelings and emotions associated with it. It is my goal to invite the viewer to experience a similar reaction through my prints.

My initial inspiration was Ansel Adams, and I continue to follow others in the field of Fine Art Photography. Traveling is a great way to find subject material. And through kayaking, backpacking, and hiking, it’s not difficult to find sights I want to bring to print. This print has been achieved by using 35mm film, 4x5 film, and digital. I also try to enhance my prints by using the highest quality printing, matting, and framing. In order to bring the picture closer to what I see, I have printed in black and white as well as color.

Photography is the best medium I have found where I can share what I see with others.
