Artist Statement

I am an abstract painter, monotype printmaker, collagist and have had my studio at the Hunters Point Shipyard since 1993. I am motivated the richness of paint or ink or other materials to see what I can do, where I go, what I find. I follow my intuition and stream of consciousness to create a composition that resonates with me. With collage I use pattern and color to create a new story with disparate materials. To be openly expressive with the materials, with no limiting plan, allows me the greatest freedom. I am carried back to memories and feelings and can I hear myself talking to myself. So, I create artwork to share my views with the outer world.
