Artist Statement

After all these years, I remain committed to art making in spite of the fact that sometimes it has been the source of as much angst as pleasure. I can compare it to taking a of leap of faith where one is repeatedly compelled to step off a ledge into the void knowing that more often than not, the result will be to crash and burn.
Art is my sort-of religion. At its best it’s a way for me to touch a spiritual source and a way to believe, because in order to reach it, disbelief must be suspended.
