Artist Statement

Global warming is affecting our oceans as well as our land masses. The fragile creatures living in the ever changing temperatures of the water are being stressed. Depicted in each entry are the Beta Fish, Frogs and Sea Horses seeking protection by hiding in the tentacles of the jellies.
I am creating these jellyfish purely from my imagination. My palette is restricted to five colors bringing continuity to the series. The alcohol inks blown onto the smooth Encaustic surface create a feeling of underwater motion.
