Artist Statement

I am inspired by simple gestural movements that we often take for granted. I love fleeting moments, and try to incorporate these ideas into my etchings. As I travel through my day I make mental notes of how people interact. I travel back to my roots as a Fashion Illustrator and Courtroom Artist where gesture and action were key to capturing the spontaneity of the moment. I still enjoy sketching from life and am never without a life class. I discovered my love of printmaking 15 years ago , and found it a great fit for my desire to depict texture pattern and line in my work. I am never without ideas for prints, and now I am trying to integrate printmaking techniques into my oil paintings. I enjoy doing a series of ideas as one idea is never enough for me.
