Artist Statement

In the United States and throughout the world, the majority of those incarcerated are minorities, people of low income or of low economic standards, and people of different political ideology. In some areas, just community people who speak of injustices are incarcerated. In Orange County, the legal system has decided to use injunctions to punish a few but end up incarcerating whole communities. Also, many young people are left in the judicial system forgotten without a future especially immigrants or young citizens. There are other ways to deal with these injustices without incarcerations. I feel that this show will provide an avenue to find a solution by bring this issue into the public view. I will be submitting three paintings dealing with this question. They are; "Released; but what about the other children", "For my life", and "Unwanted/ Invest in your child".
