Artist Statement

I make nature inspired woodblock prints in the Japanese tradition. Affected by my travel and study in Japan, notably by visiting traditional Japanese gardens, my landscape prints are carefully designed in abstract and stylized ways that are intended for viewers to have a contemplative experience. The process of making them is also a meditative practice for me.
