Artist Statement

My work explores the intersection of memory, material, and meaning through layered processes that draw from collage, encaustic, fiber, and assemblage. I am drawn to fragments—papers saved, images remembered, objects once held—and to their quiet insistence on being gathered, honored, and reimagined. These elements become the foundation for what I think of as objects of devotion: works that are not strictly religious, but deeply rooted in a human impulse to hold, preserve, and make sense of experience.

Working with wax, paper, and found materials, I build surfaces that both reveal and conceal. Each layer carries a trace of what came before, allowing the work to evolve intuitively, guided as much by discovery as by intention. The process mirrors a kind of conversation between past and present, where history, memory, and imagination meet.

Across my practice—whether in spirit figures, vessels, or narrative collages—I return to a central idea: that making is an act of attention and gratitude. These works become vessels for reflection, inviting viewers to consider their own fragments, their own stories, and the quiet, enduring act of assembling meaning from what remains.
