Artist Statement

Always have a camera handy, because opportunities present themselves when you least expect them: rays stream down from the clouds; an egret lands on the pilings in front of you; acres of blooming sunflowers are just around the bend on the back road you’re traveling.

I seek out strong compositions, different perspectives, and unusual details in my photos. I love reflections, shadows, texture, color, and tones. Old barns, rustic farm scenes, and scenes in small towns are favorites. Exploring the landscape at night brings a new dimension to my work, as well as challenges to my skills.
