Artist Statement

In my work, I explore transformation and interpretation. The vast possibilities of the everyday relationships, artifacts, and symbols around us guide my creative endeavors. Whether it?s transforming old into new, the complex into the simple, or redefining the known into the unfamiliar, my work is rooted in observation and the conviction that we all have the power to reinvent ideas, objects, and beliefs into something that is our own.

About From Darkness, Light

In this diptych, the two panels trace a quiet passage over time. One field of black fragments gathers in darkness, dense and inward. Opposite it, white fragments open into light. Between them is not a boundary but a transition: a movement from concealment toward illumination.

The flowing fragments echo the tension between restraint and release. Their encasement in a floating frame suggests a boundary, but one that also evokes passage. What appears minimal is deliberate. Jewish mourning and remembrance do not linger on the body left behind, but on ethical legacy, repair, and forward motion.
