Kaitlyn Synan
Artist Statement
When I’m not working my day job at an antique frame store, I am pushing color to the brink of what is realistic; I spend my time painting and exploring local scenes. Rooted in a deep connection to nature and community, my practice surrounds the delicate balance between solitude and shared existence, observing while creating in seclusion. Shaped by years of volunteering in galleries, creative work in exhibition spaces, and my musician father/painter mother, my life’s work has aimed to express the world and human emotion in its inherent fantasy through vibrant color and movement.
Kaitlyn Synan is an artist based in the Catskills. Her work is color saturated, with subjects varying from ephemeral emotions expressed through surreal objects/enviornments to local scenes with glowing lighting. Her work is an effort to witness and preserve color at its most vibrant, a remembrance of the vivid colors of childhood. Synan's work expands within a space, filling it with robust form, color, and fantasy.
