Artist Statement

I am drawn to how our visual perceptions and emotional sensibilities connect us. It is the abstract elements of color, shape, line, movement and a place in time that we all intuitively feel, see, engage and remember. The basis of my art is to capture the essence of human emotions.



Nature, the world around me, and shared experiences with others are my source of creative inspiration. I deconstruct what I see into simple relationships, sections of landscape, organic forms, lines and color. As I paint, I find the work may lead me to a totally abstract piece or may include realistic elements or reference.
