Charlie Conder

Artist Statement

I have worked with students for over 25 years in education and ministry settings. Since 2005, I have had the privilege of serving the North Georgia Conference in the local UMC churches in the Metro Atlanta area. Before my time in youth ministry, I was a Deaf and Hard of Hearing teacher and adjunct professor teaching ASL. I’ve served in thriving churches where I not only built a ministry where students felt unconditional belonging but also led on-campus programs at local middle schools. I am passionate about making space for students to have a voice in their community.

My art is a representation of how I see and move throughout the world. Collaging through different mediums aligns with my ADHD in a way that helps me capture my unique perspective.
